My Review & Release of Grid Iron Bad Boy by Eddie Cleveland

My Review of Grid Iron Bad Boy

I have written, deleted, and rewritten my review for this book a few times now. This book is amazing and I will never find the words to describe how much I love this book and how deeply it made me feel! This book is a standalone, but it's also the second book in a standalone series! The first book is included in here, or you can purchase it separately, if you do read American Bad Boy in here, please leave a review for it on its own page! Both deserve separate reviews, because they are different, they cover similar and different subjects, but the characters are in both, with different main characters being front and center! This is why and how you can read these as standalone's, but I highly recommend that you read them in the order intended! Eddie Cleveland called an emotional blitz with his book, Grid Iron Bad Boy! Cameron Armstrong served with Mack, but is now a Quarterback, playing college football for the Colorado Buffaloes. He's always wanted his father's love and approval. His father, Don, is a retired General. He seems to be more interested in his younger son, Jake's life,  than of Cameron's. This helps Cameron to want to party with the team, frat, other college students, and be a player, at the age of 30. Meanwhile, Chelsea, Lauren's older sister, is 32 and settling down with her life. Buying a townhouse, teaching 2nd grade, and accepting something for years now, that no woman ever wants to hear, let alone accept. Yet, Cameron and Chelsea have paths that keep crossing and their attraction for each other is something books are written about! That's how real, raw, intense, hot, sexy as sin, emotional and so much more, this incredible author makes you feel, while you're reading! You won't even realize that you are because you're going to think that you're there! Cameron and Chelsea's epic journey through the stars is one of a kind ! However, is it enough when both of their lives go through a major change? Can Cameron start putting Chelsea first or is he stuck in his childish ways? Can Chelsea trust in the North Star and Cassiopeia to bring him home, like the stories he told her about the stars?

Blurb

I fought for my country.
Now, it's time to fight for my dreams.

I traded my combat boots for cleats and the battlefield for the football field.

I'd say it worked for me.

With scouts from the professional league at my games and more girls lined up outside my locker room than at the door of a club, I'm living every bachelor's American Dream.

So, why do I only dream of her?

Her beautiful brown eyes, her sweet innocence, her voluptuous curves. She’s all I want and the one thing I can’t have.

She just needs a taste. One night of passion and I’ll have her addicted.

*****

Cameron Armstrong is a cocky, arrogant, sexy, delicious...

Where was I going with this again?

He’s a combat veteran and an all-star athlete with rippled muscles and the charm that makes panties easily drop for him.

When he shows up with a swagger and a smile, I tell him two words he's never heard before: Not Interested.

But Cameron doesn’t take no for an answer.

My heart tells me to trust him.

But, with his reputation and frenzied fangirls, I can't shake my fear.

Am I just another play in his book?

GRIDIRON BAD BOY is a stand-alone, full-length romance with an HEA. For a limited time, a second full-length novel, American Bad Boy, is included!

My Review of American Bad Boy

This book felt real! Due to the events that are real and then one's that are, but may occur differently, and the fictitious ones; this new author, Eddie Cleveland's writing is incredible! Cover Reveal for A Love Letter To Whiskey By Kandi Steiner

Title: A Love Letter to Whiskey
Author: Kandi Steiner
Release Date: Oct 13, 2016
Add to Goodreads

It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.

Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.

It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.

It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.

But we can’t start here.

No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.

Back to the beginning.

Back to the very first drop.

This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

The first time I tasted Whiskey, I fell flat on my face.

Literally.

I was drunk from the very first sip, and I guess that should have been my sign to stay away.

Jenna and I were running the trail around the lake near her house, sweat dripping into our eyes from the intense South Florida heat. It was early September, but in South Florida, it might as well have been July. There was no “boots and scarves” season, unless you counted the approximately six weeks in January and February where the temperature dropped below eighty degrees.

As it was, we were battling ninety-plus degrees, me trying to be a show off and prove I could keep up with Jenna’s cheerleading training program. She had finally made the varsity squad, and with that privilege came ridiculous standards she had to uphold. I hated running — absolutelyloathed it. I would much rather have been on my surf board that day. But fortunately for Jenna, she had a competitive best friend who never turned down a challenge. So when she asked me to train with her, I’d agreed eagerly, even knowing I’d have screaming ribs and calves by the end of the day.

I saw him first.

I was just a few steps ahead of Jenna, and I’d been staring down at my hot pink sneakers as they hit the concrete. When I looked up, he was about fifty feet away, and even from that distance I could tell I was in trouble. He seemed sort of average at first — brown hair, lean build, soaked white running shirt — but the closer he got, the more I realized just how edible he was. I noticed the shift in the muscles of his legs as he ran, the way his hair bounced slightly, how he pressed his lips together in concentration as he neared us.

I looked over my shoulder, attempting to waggle my eyebrows at Jenna and give her the secret best friend code for “hot guy up ahead”, but she had stopped to tie her shoes. And when I turned back around, it was too late.

I smacked into him — hard — and fell to the pavement, rolling a bit to soften the fall. He cursed and I groaned, more from embarrassment than pain. I wish I could say I gracefully picked myself up, smiled radiantly, and asked him for his number, but the truth is I lost the ability to do anything the minute I looked up at him.

It was an unfamiliar, warm ache that spread through my chest as I used my hand to shield the sun streaming in behind his silhouette, just how you’d expect the first sip of whiskey to feel. He was bent over, hand outstretched, saying something that wasn’t registering because I had somehow managed to slip my hand into his and just that one touch had set my skin on fire.

Handsome wasn’t the right word to describe him, but it was all I kept thinking as I traced his features. His hair was a sort of mocha color, damp at the roots, falling onto his forehead just slightly. His eyes were wide — almost too round — and a mixture of gold, green, and the deepest brown. I didn’t coin the nickname Whiskey until much later, but it was that moment that I saw it for the first time — those were whiskey eyes. The kind of eyes you get lost in. The kind that drink you in. He had the longest lashes and a firm, square jaw. It was so hard, the edges so clean that I would have sworn he was angry with me if it weren’t for the smile on his face.He was still talking as my eyes fell over his broad chest before snapping back up to his sideways grin.

“Oh my God, are you fucking blind?!” Jenna’s voice snapped me from my haze as she shoved Whiskey out of the way and latched onto my hand, ripping me back to standing position. I’d barely caught my balance before she whipped around to continue her scolding. “How about you brush that long ass hair out of your eyes and watch where you’re going, huh champ?”

Oh no.

I didn’t even have time to call dibs, I couldn’t even think the word, let alone say it, before it was too late. I watched it, in slow motion, as Whiskey fell for my best friend before I even had the chance to say a single word to him.

Jenna was standing tall, arms crossed, one hip popped in her usual fashion as she waited for him to defend himself. This was her protocol — it was one of the reasons we got along. We were both what you’d call “spitfires”, but Jenna had the distinct advantage of being cripplingly gorgeous on top of having an attitude. She flipped her long, wavy blonde ponytail behind her and cocked a brow.

And then he did, too.

His smile grew wider as he met her eyes, and it was the same look I’d watched fall
over guy after countless guy. Jenna was a unicorn, and men were enamored by her. As they should have been — she had platinum blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, legs for days and a personality to boot. Now, before you go thinking that I was the insecure best friend - I had it going on, too. I worked hard, I was talented - just not at the things traditional high school boys valued.

But we’ll get to that.

“Hi,” Whiskey finally said, extending his hand to Jenna this time. His eyes were warm, smile inviting — if I had to pick the right word for him, just one, I’d say charming. He just oozed charm. “I’m Jamie.”

“Well, Jamie, maybe you should make an appointment with the eye doctor before you run over another innocent jogger. And you owe Brecks an apology.” She nodded to me then and I cringed at my name, wondering why she felt the need to spill it at all. She always called me B — everyone did — so why did she choose the moment I was face to face with the first boy to ever make my heart accelerate to use my full name?

Jamie was still grinning, eying Jenna, trying to figure her out, but he turned to me after a moment with that same crooked smile. “I’m sorry, I should have been watching where I was going.” He said the words with conviction, but lifted his brows on that last line because he and I both knew who wasn’t paying attention to the trail, and he wasn’t the guilty party.

“It’s fine,” I murmured, because for some reason I was still having a difficult time finding my voice. Jamie tilted his head just a fraction, his eyes hard on me this time, and I felt naked beneath his gaze. I’d never had anyone look at me that way — completely zeroed in. It was unnerving and exhilarating, too.

But before I could latch onto the feeling, he turned back to Jenna, their eyes meeting as slow smiles spread on both of their faces. I’d seen it a million times, but this was the first time I felt sick watching it happen.

I saw him first, but it didn’t matter.

Because he saw her.

Updated with My Review Release Day Blast of Stroked Long By Meghan Quinn

My Review

Sea Monster
Once again, this has laugh out loud parts! However, it has other emotions from pain and sorrow to happiness and joy, with so much in between. This book is about Bodi Banks, another Olympic swimmer, who has a strict everything! Very bland & non-colorful life too, but there is a reason for all of this. Enter the extremely vibrant & artistic, Ruby Hearts. This has exploding soda, double stuf oreo fights, donkey kicks, and text messages that are beyond hilarious! This also will rip out your heart and crush it. Have no fear, Meghan does an amazing job at putting it back together! She's an amazing author and I can't wait for the next rollercoaster ride! You don't have to read the first book to read this one, as the story lines are going on during the same timeline. However, if you want to laugh until your sides hurt, read both!

We're so excited about the release of STROKED LONG by Meghan Quinn!

STROKED LONG by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: September 20, 2016
Sports Romance
Cover Designed by: Indie Solutions by Murphy Rae
BLURB:

From his dirty-blond hair and breathtaking smile, to the abs from heaven and the irresistible V in his waistline, everything about Bodi Olympic-gold-medalist Banks screams hot piece of @$$.

Yet there’s more.

Dark shadows lurk behind his soulful, serious eyes.

I’m enamored. He’s captured me.

How can running an art foundation with Bodi Banks turns into a slow-burning, epic romance, even though he tries to push me away at every chance? How can I stay away from a broken, routine-driven man whose soul cries to be forgiven for a crime only he believes he committed? Or is that a lie?

**STROKED LONG can be read as a stand alone.

EXCERPT:

My palms are sweaty; my anxiety is at an all-time high; and I’m so fucking nervous I’m two seconds from retreating. I’m sitting in the classroom next to the one Ruby teaches in, leaning against some cabinets while holding a bouquet of daisies—Eva’s idea. One of the girls who works at the club is pulling Ruby out of the classroom right now and what should be a two-minute task seems like an hour as I wait impatiently, running my apology over and over in my head.

Just as I’m about to give up and leave, the door to the classroom opens and Ruby enters, looking confused and asking, “What’s going on?” over her shoulder. When she turns toward me, her face falls and her cheeks redden. Shit. She doesn’t look happy. Is she embarrassed?

From behind, the girl who helped me shuts the door, giving us complete privacy.

“Hey,” I say lamely.

Looking around, Ruby asks, “Um, can I help you with something, Bodi?” She’s being professional. I have to hand it to her; she’s much stronger than I am.

Extending the flowers out to her like a robot, I say, “I got you flowers.”

A little finesse, Bodi. Christ.

She doesn’t move so I realize I have to make a better attempt at this apology. I can’t be Robot-Bodi; I need to use my feelings. I sound like Eva.

Stepping forward, I hand her the flowers, and she graciously takes them. What I think is going to warm her up, only confuses her even more. Her brow is furrowing.

Sticking my hands in my pockets, I shift in place and take a deep breath. “I was an ass this morning. I know you heard what I said to Eva, and I want you to know I didn’t mean any of it.”

“Bodi, you don’t need to explain,” Ruby cuts in. “We’re colleagues, I get it. Last night I overstepped your boundaries and asked too much. I apologize and promise it won’t happen again. From now on, we act strictly professional toward one another.”

Fuck that and fuck me. This is not the same Ruby I’ve grown to know. Like. Feel safe around. There isn’t a spark in her eye, a smirk to her pouty lips, or energy in her beautiful voice. She’s lacking her sparkle, and it’s slowly splintering me in half. Because I caused this.

“I don’t want that,” I say honestly. “You are more than someone I work with, Ruby.” I grab the back of my neck, feeling unsure of my footing, and then choose to speak to her honestly. “I’m not good with this kind of stuff, and I really have no experience, but you make me want to try. Maybe we can be friends.”

“Friends?” There is a slight twitch of her lips that makes me think my Ruby is coming back.

My Ruby? Shit.

“Yeah, friends. I, uh . . .” I clear my throat and look her in the eyes. “I like talking to you. And even though you try to get me to eat sweets, I like hanging out with you as well. You make my days fun.”

Now there is a full-on, mega-watt smile gracing her beautiful face. The flowers in her hand are now pressed against her chest in a hug, and she’s moving toward me.

“I would love to be friends with you, Bodi.” Opening her arms, she steps into my space and pulls me into a hug. Her face rests against my chest, and smelling the sweet scent of her shampoo instantly puts me at ease.

Wanting to reciprocate the affection, I wrap my arms around her and pull her small body closer into mine. That’s bullshit. I want to hold her because I like holding her. Not because I want to reciprocate. “I’m sorry for being an ass this morning, Ruby. Sometimes I react before stopping to think. And poorly at that. I enjoyed last night.”

“It’s okay, Bodi. I could see you were under duress.”

“You don’t have to forgive me that easily.” I chuckle. Eva was right. I’m pretty sure Ruby will let you off easy. She’s cool like that. Yeah, she is cool like that.

STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Released: July 19, 2016
Cover Designer: Murphy Rae

BLURB:

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

My Review of Arena 1 By Morgan Rice

My Review

This is my second book read by Morgan Rice & what I love about this author is how he sets the scene so well, it is detailed (however not overly so), organized, crisp & on pointe. The books I have read by this author I feel like I’m right there with the character seeing, feeling, hearing everything that is happening in that moment. This book starts with a great introduction of the main character Brooke who you know right from the start is a realist, perfectionist, is harder on herself than anyone else could ever be, a desperate hunger to keep her family together, & a survivor. From here you have what can only be described as an EPIC car chase that may only be rivaled by the Blues Brothers classic scene. This book takes you on a ambitious / heroic journey from the action packed car chases, to the Mad Max Thunderdome & the burning desire to keep a family together & never give up hope. This is the first book in a three part series & I would highly recommend picking up this book & series. I could even see this book being turned into a movie at some point.
